Today is the day dreams are made of for Sugar Creek. Our first fully designed Surprise Vow Renewal is featured over on Green Wedding Shoes and I can finally share the photos, video and story related to this sweet, sweet event.
Let’s start with the bride and groom. I originally pitched a Vow Renewal Editorial to the bride, Karly, via my bestie, Lynsie (owner of Brik Venue) when I first started toying around with the idea. Karly is a realtor for Burt Ladner Real Estate in Fort Worth, and actually sold Lynsie her house. Once Karly was on board with the idea, I told her I would create the full design of her Vow Renewal & and all her and her hubs had to do was show up and renew their vows. She took it one step further and said she wanted to surprise her husband with a vow renewal but to just let him think he was doing her a favor by being a “groom model” in my styled editorial.
I assembled a magical team of DFW wedding vendors who all came together on this day to make it something truly special for them. From florals, to music, to cocktails, to a few additional surprise elements. And Rich, seriously had no clue that his wife was going to walk down the aisle and actually renew her vows to him.
Cue the ceremony, and as Karly is walking down the aisle, Rich calls across to her and says “this is the wedding we never had”, still not knowing this was a real event. Karly makes it to the altar and a guest officiant walks out, a long-time friend of the bride and groom. After that surprise calmed down, Karly leaned over to Rich and said “this IS the wedding we never had”. And then out walked their family members who were secretly hiding upstairs in the bridal suite, including their 2 children.
And there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! (I couldn’t have scripted that any more perfectly had I even tried!!).
Without further adieu, enjoy the magic that was this day for Karly & Rich. Vendor Credits, #sugarcreeklovelies featured & Video of the day below.
P.S…. Most all of my designs have some sort of “feature”. In this design, I hand-crafted the geometric backdrop walls that you’ll see at the altar. These walls are super versatile as they can have custom color inserts created for them (which you’ll see below) or they can be left “naked” — without a color insert, so you can frame what is directly behind them. This piece, named the Chadwick, was created specifically for this vow renewal, but is now available in our inventory! You’ll also see our nearly 11′ foot farm table featured in the reception photos, plus all of our specialty rental pieces!!
