Tell us a little bit about your Dallas Stationary Design Business.
I’m Katie Lane, Owner + Designer of Lanelove Paper Co. We are a custom design company specializing in Wedding Stationery and event Branding! Established in 2013. We design custom curated invitation sets, and then carry out those elements to the entire wedding on all paper goods like menus and programs and beyond to products like cups, napkins, and more!
How did you get into Paper Product Design?
I found a love for art at a very young age, before I even started school. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to have a creative career. I attended Texas Women’s university for graphic design, expecting to probably get more into standard logo/web design immediately following. Then, when I became pregnant with my first daughter, I designed my own baby shower invitations. After that I decided to open an etsy shop with digital paper goods. Soon I added a wedding invitation set to my shop, and that set alone sold like hot cakes. That’s when I realized I had a knack for this!
What is your preferred style aesthetic (ie. what are you most drawn to when it comes to design, colors, etc)?
I love modern + minimal, yet bold design. I create simple streamlined designs that create a bold aesthetic. I love taking a neutral color, like grey, and making it feel bold through effective design.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of my job is making my clients genuinely happy. It sounds cliché, but there is nothing better in my daily work than receiving a message from a Bride gushing about her invitations that I created. Art is so personal to me, my Designs are my art, and there is no better feeling than someone loving my art.
What are your hobbies or non-work related activities?
I really love my work, so I would say that is my hobby. But when I’m not working, I enjoy playing with my two little girls, we love walking to the park!
What is your current favorite color combination?
I love the rose gold trend with the deep wine red tones. I also love a classic navy + grey.
Are there any wedding trends that you absolutely love?
Right now for paper I’m loving the watercolor trends. I also love unique couple hashtags!

What tips or advice can you give to couples who are in the midst of planning?
My advice for couples in the midst of planning is to make your wedding personal! I think the best way to make your wedding personal besides choosing your favorite colors is to create something memorable like a unique hashtag that describes you as a couple, or a custom logo. Those can both be used to brand out the wedding on the cups/napkins and signage, etc.
Another bit of advice is to hire professional wedding vendors! Your wedding planning process and wedding day will be so much easier and stress free, when you hire professional people that you can trust to do the job.
